Myrtle wood turns easily and polishes with a wonderful lustre. This particular item is roughly six inches across.

Ambrosia Maple is a maple tree that has been infested by the ambrosia beetle. The unique coloring comes from a fungus. Neither the beetles nor the fungus affect the final product.
Joy has enjoyed miniatures for many years, so it is only natural that she would produce some interesing minatures on the lathe.
